Hydraulic nuts offer a method of tensioning 100% of the studs simultaneously in multi-bolt assemblies such as a bolted joint. Tensioning multi-bolt assemblies (such as a flange) greatly improves the integrity of the joint. The speed at which joints can be tensioned and de-tensioned results in an extraordinary time savings over conventional detachable bolt tensioning systems.
The most important benefit of using our Delta Series Hydraulic Nut Solution is that we give the design/maintenance engineer a system that can deliver accurate bolt loads, ensuring joint integrity. Even bolt load distribution to the joint is achieved by linking tools through a common hydraulic harness. The fundamental advantage of this product is that direct axial load is applied to the bolt, and inaccuracies created through friction are eliminated. Turbine Closure System
Our specially designed locking collar for hydraulic nuts is utilized to maintain loads on the inner shell while the outer shell is installed for alignment checks or other maintenance procedures. Because each hydraulic nut is configured to stud size and threads per inch, the system components can be cross-utilized on the inner and outer shells of the HP, IP, and LP, as well as control valves and other bolted flanges. The Hydraulic Turbine Casing Closure System can also be utilized to speed up final closure on the turbine shells.
Each Hydraulic Turbine Casing Closure System is configured to your particular outage requirements. The system is designed to accommodate virtually every manufacturer’s turbine model. It can also be configured to simultaneously pressurize the HP, IP, and LP sections, if required for speed. The Hydraulic Turbine Casing Closure System is available in a range of sizes, from 2- to 6-inch nuts.
